Speedway (.526-mile oval) Format: 501 laps, broken into three stages (130 laps/130 laps/241 laps) Start/Finish: 20th / 28nd (running, completed 498 of 501 laps) Point Standing: 25th Notes: Daniel Suárez finished 28th in Sunday’s 500-lap NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. Suárez is 25th in the season standings after 35 of 36 races. Suárez started 20th Sunday and reported handling issues early. He dropped off the lead lap and fell to 30th by end of the first stage. Suárez finished 28th in the second stage, two laps behind the leaders. The Trackhouse team kept making changes to the car and Suárez climbed to 28th by the end of the race. The Cup Series will return to action Sunday at Phoenix International Raceway for the final race of the 2021 season. NBC will televise Sunday’s race at 3 p.m. EDT.
