Races May 24, 2022May 24, 2022 Trackhouse Racing Driver Battles with Leaders After Starting from Last Row. Date: May 22nd, 2022 Event: NASCAR All-Star Race Series: NASCAR Cup Series Location: Texas Motor Speedway (1.5-mile oval) Format: Four stages (25 laps/25 laps/25 laps/50 laps) Start/Finish: 23rd / 5th (running, completed 125 of 125 laps) Notes: Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished fifth in Sunday’s NASCAR All-Star Race at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. Suárez raced at the front of the field most of the night after winning the Open race Sunday afternoon that earned his admission to the All-Star Race. Suárez started 23rd in the 24-car field, but by lap 15 of the second stage the Freeway Insurance Chevrolet ran fifth. Both Trackhouse Racing Chevrolets gained spots on pit lane Sunday night as passing on the 1.5-mile oval proved difficult, but Suárez made it look easy. The All-Star Race is a non-points event. NASCAR Cup Series returns to action Sunday for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Freeway Insurance Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing: “I felt like we were pretty fast. Everyone at Trackhouse Racing – the 99 team, the 1 team, everyone has been doing a very, very good job building fast racecars. I feel like at one point, we were probably one of the best cars out there. Right down to the very end, we probably were not. We were at a disadvantage on tires, as well. It was a huge fight. We started in the back, fought all the way to the top-10 or something like that and then tires changed. I’m just happy with the result. Hopefully we can close the deal next week in the Coca-Cola 600.”
