  • It was a tough race for both Trackhouse Racing drivers as Suárez developed brake issues after he was pushed over the curb by another car midway through the event.
  • Suárez started 13th Sunday and gained several positions before pitting in the closing laps of the first stage to gain track position for the second stage.
  • The Mexican driver broke into the top 10 on the opening laps in the second stage. Suárez did not pit and climbed as high as sixth before he finished 13th.
  • Severe brake problems for Suárez sent him to the back of the field.
  • The Charlotte race marked the sixth of 10 playoff races and the end of the three-race, second round.
  • With his 30th-place finish Sunday, Suárez finished 11th of the 12 playoff drivers with only the top eight drivers advancing to the third round. Suárez, Joey Logano, Austin Cindric and Chase Briscoe were eliminated from playoff contention.
  • The eight remaining drivers will begin the three-race, third round on Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Four more drivers will be eliminated after that round then the four remaining drivers will compete in a winner-take-all Championship race at Phoenix Raceway on Nov. 10.

Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Choice Hotels Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing:

“Honestly, the fact that we’re out of the playoffs, that hurts a little bit. But for me personally, it hurts way more the way we got eliminated. This entire No. 99 Choice Privileges Chevy team works really hard to bring really fast racecars to the track each weekend. This weekend, we just didn’t have it. I feel like we were going to make a little headway and we were right there, and then we had brake issues. It’s just painful. It’s painful to be out the of the playoffs this way, that’s the part that’s more painful than anything. If we would have finished fifth and I was out of the playoffs, I would be happy. We worked really hard, but for some reason it didn’t show today.”
