Races March 10, 2025 Trackhouse Racing Driver Collected by Spinning Back Marker While Running 6th Date: March 9th, 2025 Event: Shriners Children’s 500 (Round 4 of 36) Series: NASCAR Cup Series Location: Phoenix Raceway (1.022-mile oval) Format: 312 laps, broken into three stages (60 laps/125 laps/127 laps) Start/Finish: 31st /23rd (completed 308 of 312 laps) Point Standing: 29th with 55 points Notes: Trackhouse Racing’s Daniel Suárez finished 23rd in Sunday’s 500-kilometer NASCAR Cup Series race at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. Daniel Suárez saw his run in sixth-place dissolve on lap 216 when a back marker spun and slid into his car forcing him to the pits for repairs and out of contention. He finished 23rd. For the second time in a points race, Goodyear provided two tire compounds for the teams to run during the race. Teams had six sets of the primary tire (yellow lettering), which was a more durable compound that maintained a consistent speed for a longer period. Teams also had two sets of the option tire (red lettering), which was softer and faster — but wore much more quickly. The three Trackhouse Chevrolets struggled to gain spots on the yellow tires in the opening stage; Suárez finished 28th. That changed in the second stage when all three put on the faster red tires and blasted to the front of the field. Suárez drove to third before being forced to put yellow tires back on after a caution. Suárez finished eighth. Suárez was one of the fastest cars on the track when Katherine Legge, running in 28th in her first NASCAR race, spun into the No. 99 on lap 216 ruining his bid for victory. The NASCAR Cup Series returns to action Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Freeway Insurance Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing: “I can’t believe that happened today. We were having a really good race and our No. 99 Freeway Chevrolet was right there in contention. There wasn’t anything we could do. Our luck will change. Our cars are fast and we’ll get a finish we deserve here soon. We’ll put this weekend behind us and focus on Las Vegas.”
