The second race in the Round of 16 is Sunday at World Wide Technology Raceway near St. Louis. Suárez’s race went bad in turn two of the first lap when Josh Berry spun, triggering a five-car accident that caused front-end damage. Suárez made several stops for the crew to repair the damage. He fought to return to the lead lap and finished the race 25th. In the first stage, Suárez nursed his damaged car to a 29th-place finish – a lap behind the leaders. In the second stage, Suárez’s crew made repairs during every pit stop before making up two lost laps and finishing the stage in 31st place on the lead lap. Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Freeway Insurance Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing: “That was a tough night for our Freeway Chevrolet. I didn’t expect it to go bad so quickly when the cars up front started spinning on the first lap. We got some damage on the front end and we worked all race to get it better. We were just very tight all night. It’s a shame we didn’t get to race but my guys kept grinding all night and never gave up.”
