Notes:

  • Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished 23rd in Sunday’s 64th-annual Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
  • Both Trackhouse Chevrolets showed early speed in the sport’s longest race of the season, but mid-race incidents ruined their chances for a good finish.
  • Suárez drove from his 24th starting spot to fourth and appeared to be one of the fastest cars on the track until a Kyle Busch spin on lap 177 saw the No. 99 make contact with the side of Busch’s car causing significant front and underneath damage on Suarez’s car.
  • Suárez never regained the lost pace despite several pit stops to repair the damage. Later in the race he regained two laps he lost to the leaders and finished on the lead lap.
  • The race was held Monday after rain canceled Saturday’s practice and qualifying as well as Sunday’s race.
  • The next race is Sunday’s 300-mile race at World Wide Technology Raceway in St. Louis. FS1 will broadcast the race at 3:30 p.m. EDT.

Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Jockey Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing:

“I just can’t believe our luck and how we are the victim of someone else’s mistake. We were very close to having our car dialed in tonight, but we had a lot of damage in the wreck. We weren’t the same after that. We have positives we can take from tonight. If we can be this fast every week then we are going to be in good shape.”
