The race began in the afternoon’s heat but paused on lap 11 for a 3-hour 10-minute rain delay. Most of the racing took place in the chilly Sunday night temperatures. Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Freeway Insurance Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing: “It was an okay day overall. Our Freeway Insurance Chevrolet didn’t have as much speed as I thought we were going to have. We got damaged in one of those wrecks there at the end but we were fortunate because it certainly could have been a lot worse.”
