Notes:

  • Daniel Suárez finished 33rd in Sunday’s rain-shortened NASCAR Cup Series race at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
  • The finish moved Suárez to 24th in the season standings after 14 races.
  • Suárez qualified 15th Sunday morning, but started near the back of the field because of a transmission change before the race.
  • Suárez climbed to 25th in the early going, but on lap seven the No. 99 stalled on the track.
  • After safety trucks pushed the No. 99 to the garage, the crew replaced the transmission and returned Suárez to the race in 40th, nine laps behind the leaders.
  • After repairs, Suárez returned to the track and gained seven spots before heavy rain and limited visibility forced NASCAR to end the race on lap 54.
  • The NASCAR Cup Series return to action Sunday May 30 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the Coca-Cola 600. Fox will broadcast the race at 6 p.m. EDT.

Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 ONX Homes/iFly Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing:

“That was a huge disappointment. I was really looking forward to racing today. I thought we had a really good car. We will bounce back in Charlotte.”
