Notes:

  • Trackhouse Racing’s Daniel Suárez finished 15th in Sunday’s 400-mile NASCAR Cup Series race at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.
  • Suárez overcame handling issues Sunday and staged a late-race rally also using a quick pit stop before overtime to earn a 15th-place finish.
  • Suárez started the race 30th, Suárez 30th. The Mexico native battled tight handling issues and finished 24th.
  • All three Trackhouse drivers were faster in the second stage but were forced to take the wave around at lap 142 when a caution flew a few laps after pitting, trapping each a lap behind the leaders. All three finished on the lead lap with Suárez in 31st.
  • The NASCAR Cup Series returns to action Sunday at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.

Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Quaker State Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing:

“The No. 99 Quaker State Chevy was tight today. The strategy just didn’t go our way a couple of times. We were just average, we weren’t great. But nobody gave up and we were better at the end and had a great pit stop before overtime. That’s a decent finish but we have some work to do. We’ll go back and get ready for Bristol next weekend.”
