Notes:

  • Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished 27th in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series road course race at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas.
  • The somewhat uneventful race turned wild as accidents plagued the final laps then carried over into three overtimes creating multiple restarts.
  • Sunday’s finish moves Suárez to 14th in the season standings.
  • The next race is 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 2 at Richmond (Va.) Raceway.
  • Suárez qualified fifth on Saturday and spent most of the race in the top-five. He finished sixth in the first stage and climbed as high as second late in the race.
  • Suárez appeared ready to battle for the lead and victory, but on a restart in the second overtime he was hit going into turn one bringing the No. 99 to a stop. A pit stop for a cut left front tire relegated him to the back of the field.

Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Freeway Insurance Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing:

“Just extremely disappointed with how today ended. We had a really good Freeway Chevrolet all day long and thought we had a chance to get a great finish, but we just got wrecked. I hate that happened.”
