Notes:

  • Daniel Suárez finished 11th in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City.
  • The finish moved Suárez to 22nd in the season standings.
  • Suarez started 21st and finished 22nd in Stage 1.
  • In Stage 2, Suárez raced in the top-five when he remained on the track longer than most hoping to stay on the lead lap. He ultimately had to pit for fuel and fell off the lead lap finishing the stage in 30th.
  • The Trackhouse Racing driver overcame a pit road penalty, raced back to 17th and regained the lost lap when a caution flew with 38 laps to go.
  • Several cautions in the closing laps slowed the race and sent it into a two-lap overtime.
  • Suárez started the overtime in 18th and used new tires and good driving to avoid sliding cars and make several passes to finish 11th.
  • His fourth-place finish at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway on March 29 is the only result better than Sunday’s finish.
  • The NASCAR Cup Series return to action Sunday May 9 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway. Fox will broadcast the race at 3:30 p.m. EDT.

Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Camping World Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing:

“P11 was a good result for our Trackhouse Racing team yesterday. We fought all day with the handling of our Camping World Chevrolet Camaro, but we made the most out of the opportunities we were given, especially towards the end of the race. Lots to learn from and lots to improve on still but this team never gives up.
I’m looking forward to Darlington, we WILL win soon!”
