  • Daniel Suárez finished 23rd in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.
  • The finish moved Suárez to 23rd in the season standings after 12 races.
  • Suarez started 15th and finished 30th in Stage 1 and 26th and Stage 2.
  • Suárez and the Trackhouse Racing team fought with handling issues throughout the 400-mile race. His No. 99 was good the first 7-10 laps on new tires then faded dramatically as the laps accumulated.
  • The crew made several changes throughout the race to cure the issue.
  • Suárez’s Darlington paint scheme celebrated Camping World’s 55th birthday.
  • The NASCAR Cup Series return to action Sunday May 16 at Dover (Del.) International Speedway. FS1 will broadcast the race at 2 p.m. EDT.

“It was a very, very difficult day. We have to regroup and try to see where we are a little wrong. We started the race extremely off. We made a few steps in the right direction and then we lost it again by the end. We have a lot of work to do. But we have very good people and have to regroup to try to see what we’re going to do.”
