Suárez finished the first stage in third before suffering a pit road speeding penalty to begin the second stage. He battled back to finish fifth in the stage. Chevrolet drivers swept the top-four finishing positions on Sunday. Rain cancelled all practice and qualifying activity on Saturday making Sunday’s race the first time drivers made laps on the two-mile, high speed oval. Both Trackhouse drivers have notched top-10 finishes in the season’s first two races. Suárez is now fifth in points. The next race is 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 5 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Freeway Insurance Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing: “I’m very, very proud of everyone at Trackhouse Racing. They keep building very fast race cars and it’s a lot of fun to race like this. My No. 99 Freeway Insurance Chevy team did a great job on pit road with strategy and adjustments. I feel like I made a few mistakes today that maybe cost us a shot at the win. I feel like our car was capable of running up front, but I just made too many mistakes. I just have to clean up a few things on my end and I’m sure we’ll come back next weekend with another shot.”
