  • Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished 22nd in Sunday night’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond (Va.) Raceway.
  • After starting a points race on rain tires for the first time, drivers raced on the wet track before NASCAR switched the field to dry-weather tires during a caution on lap 30.
  • Suárez climbed to ninth from his 20th starting position before he was spun by Josh Barry on the final green-flag lap of the first stage and fell to 36th place.
  • Suárez finished 20th in the second stage, falling off the lead lap.
  • The next Cup Series race is on Sunday at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.

“I think we had a really fast Quaker State Chevrolet tonight but we couldn’t get back to the front after that spin in the first stage. The front of the car was very good tonight but the back was out of the track.”
