Notes:

  • Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished 11th in Sunday’s 400-mile NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
  • Suárez took four tires tires for the race restart with 28 laps remaining. He restarted 19th before using the fresh tires to climb to 11th.
  • Tire strategy determined the running position for most cars on Sunday.
  • Because of the way the cautions fell, Suárez only changed right-side tires during the first stage. It allowed him to lead 11 laps before the old tires dropped him to 17th. In the second stage, he finished 16th.
  • The next Cup Series race is on Sunday at Phoenix Raceway.

Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Freeway Insurance Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing:

“It wasn’t easy. I wasn’t really happy with the balance of the No. 99 Freeway Insurance Chevy. The front of the car never turned the entire race. The back of the car was going away on the long run. Sometimes we were making the car a little bit better in the long run, but the front just never turned all race long. Just have to see everything to figure out how we can be a little better next time.”
