Races April 22, 2024 Final Lap Crash Takes Out Tootsies Chevrolet Running in Top 10 Date: April 21st, 2024 Event: Geico 500 (Round 10 of 36) Series: NASCAR Cup Series Location: Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway (2.66-mile oval) Format: 188 laps, broken into three stages (60 laps/60 laps/68 laps) Start/Finish: 25th / 26th (accident, completed 188 of 188 laps) Notes: Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished 26th in Sunday’s 500-mile NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. Both Trackhouse Racing drivers ran nose-to-tail in the top 10 for the final 20-plus laps until they approached the checkered flag. The leaders in front of the field wrecked collecting both Trackhouse cars. Until the final lap, the Trackhouse Chevrolets looked as fast as any competitors in the final stage rarely venturing outside the top 10. Suárez started 25th on Sunday but both rocketed into the top-10 in the first 10 laps. Suárez overcame a mid-race vibration, falling down a lap before returning to the lead lap and racing in the top five. The next Cup Series race is on Sunday at Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway. Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Tootsies Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing: “Just disappointing. I thought we were in a good position at the end pushing Ross (Chastain) but I’m not sure what happened and we were spun. We battled through some issues today and we were pretty good in the end. We deserved a better finish than what we got today. I can’t wait to get to Dover.”
