Races March 21, 2024 Tough Race for Trackhouse Chevrolet Drivers Date: March 17th, 2024 Event: Food City Dirt Race (Round 6 of 36) Series: NASCAR Cup Series Location: Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway (.533-mile, oval) Format: 500 laps, broken into three stages (125 laps/125 laps/250 laps) Start/Finish: 28th / 18th (completed 498 of 500 laps) Point Standing: 11th with 133 points Notes: Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished 18th in Sunday’s 500-lap NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. Tire strategy dominated the race as all 36 drivers and teams struggled to make a set of tires last more than a handful of laps on the half-mile concrete track. Suárez ran just outside the top 10 most of the race, but couldn’t push to the front of the field. Suárez started 28th Sunday and both Trackhouse Racing drivers struggled early as tire wear exceeded expectations. Suárez climbed to 17th by the end of the first stage. Drivers slowed their speeds and tried to make the tires last longer in the second stage. Suárez finished the second stage in 17th. The next Cup Series race is on Sunday at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Jockey Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing: “That was a strange day. I don’t think we have ever done a race like this. We just tried to manage tires. I couldn’t push too hard. We made a lot of changes today to our Jockey Chevrolet, but our tires just kept going away.”
