Races July 23, 2023 Rain Forces Race to Monday Afternoon. Date: July 17th, 2023 Event: Crayon 301 (Round 20 of 36) Series: NASCAR Cup Series Location: New Hampshire Motor Speedway (1.058-mile oval) Format: 301 laps, broken into three stages (70 laps/115 laps/116 laps) Start/Finish: 12th / 16th (completed 301 of 301 laps) Point Standing: 17th with 431 points Notes: Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished 16th in Monday’s 301-lap race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon. It was a roller coaster day for both Trackhouse Racing Chevrolets as tire strategy and track position were key throughout the race. Suárez’s day started out well, climbing as high as sixth in the early going before finishing eighth in the first stage and 18th in the second stage. He raced as high as fourth in the final 100 laps by stretching his fuel mileage. Both Trackhouse Racing drivers spent much of the race working on the car’s handling on the mile oval. Rain Sunday forced the race to Monday under hot and humid conditions. Trackhouse entered Monday’s race on a three-race streak of winning or finishing second in each of the races. The Cup Series returns to action Sunday, July 23 at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway. Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 SLAM! Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing: “It was a rollercoaster day for the No. 99 SLAM! Foundation Chevy team. In the beginning, we had track position and we were able to defend ourselves pretty decent. But once we lost track position and we lost the balance of the car a little bit in Stage Two, we just couldn’t recover. It seemed like we had some issues with the right-rear on the pit stops that cost us a lot of track position, as well. My pit crew is one of the best out there and I know that they’re going to figure it out. I’m pretty sure it was a mechanical issue and it wasn’t their problem. All-in-all, we were expecting more, but with how many issues we had, we’ll take it.”
