Notes:

  • Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez won the Ambetter Health 400 on Sunday in a spectacular three-wide finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
  • Suárez’s Atlanta victory marks his second Cup Series career win.
  • Suárez battled three-wide with Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch to take the checkered flag by .003 seconds over Blaney, third closest finish in Cup Series history.
  • It wasn’t an easy day for Suárez. A 19-car accident on lap 3 collected Suárez’s Chevrolet damaging the front end. He made several stops for repairs and finished the first stage in 19th. He rallied in the second stage to finish fourth.
  • Suárez’s victory is Trackhouse Racing’s seventh victory since it began NASCAR Cup Series racing 2021 when it started as a single- car team before expanding to two cars in 2022.
  • The victory likely ensures Suárez a spot in the 16-driver NASCAR Playoffs.
  • It was Suárez’s second career victory (Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway in June 20022) and first of the 2024 season. He also owns three Xfinity Series and one Craftsman Truck Series victory.
  • Suárez is the only Mexican driver to ever win a NASCAR Cup Series event. He is one of six drivers not from the United States to win a NASCAR Cup Series race; Marcos Ambrose (Australia), Juan Pablo Montoya (Colombia) Earl Ross (Canada), Mario Andretti (Italy) and Trackhouse’s PROJECT91 driver Shane van Gisbergen (New Zealand.)
  • The next Cup Series race is Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Freeway Insurance Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing:

“It’s an amazing feeling. This team did an amazing job all race long. We wrecked on lap two. The guys fixed the car and we were able to make it good again, make it fast again. It took some tweaking, but unbelievable. Freeway Insurance, Trackhouse, Chevrolet, and all the people that believed in us from day one – it’s unbelievable to do this in this fashion!”
