One race remains in the Round of 16 when four of the 16 playoff drivers will be eliminated. Suárez is 10th of the 16 drivers with 2,056 points, six points above the final transfer position. The third and final race in the Round of 16 is Saturday night at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. Daniel Suárez started 15th and held his position in the early going finishing the first stage in 16th. The No. 99 team made handling adjustments and Suárez climbed as high as tenth before finishing 16th in the second stage. Suárez found speed in the final stage, turning laps as quick as the leaders, and even led during a green flag pit cycle. He gained three spots in the final laps and would likely have gained two more with just a few more laps. The 10th-place finish was his 11th top-10 in 2022. Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 CommScope Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing: “Today was very inconsistent. It was a long day. At times, we were OK and then some other times, we weren’t good. We had a couple of situations there on pit road and then we had a tire going down. We had an eventful day. But for a day like that and to finish in the top-10, I’m quite happy. We have some work to do. We are not where we need to be. At times, I felt like we were a top-five car; and at times, we were a 20th-place car. We have to be a little bit more consistent. We don’t really understand why it was so inconsistent, but we’re going to find some answers and move on to Bristol.”
